Hey gang ... greetings from Woodinville, Washington (just outside of Seattle); finishing up this first leg of the Diana Krall tour of the USA (been out touring Europe, Canada and the US since March!) ... had some free time this morning to update the "What's New" page of my website.

How has the tour gone? In a nutshell, what has been rewarding and challenging on this gig?

Good morning!

1. Just in case some of you might not have noticed, there is a FREE CD contest going on at my site (on the "What's New" page) ...

2. Rewards and Challenges of touring with Diana Krall?

Rewards: The band is great, she's terrific, the crew is excellent, and the audiences have been a pleasure to play for ...

Challenges: More time away from home than I would prefer at this point ... I guess that would have to be the biggest challenge. Also, there are specific requirements that go along with accompanying a vocalist ... it's different from purely instrumental music ... but I guess it's like any other mind of music, in that the bottom line is (when all is said and done): it has to sound good.

I just wrote an article for RHYTHM Magazine about this very topic, it should appear in print fairly soon ...

Meanwhile ... back to the website contest: can you identify the person playing the cowbell???
